For Terrell Owens, the future doesn't seem to be too kind. With his age playing a factor in many teams making the decision on whether to sign him, and of course his loud mouthed charisma that has gotten him in trouble on many occasions, Terrell Owens has been quiet thus far this offseason. If only we all had a DeLorean and a wacky proffesor to boost us forward into the future.

Receiver Jerheme Urban, who spent the past three seasons in Arizona, has agreed to terms with the Chiefs. No big surprise there. The Cardinals soured on Urban at the end of last season and didn't give him a tender offer.

Old master Kurt Warner and playoff newcomer Aaron Rodgers staged a passing duel to rival any the NFL has seen. And when the highest-scoring postseason game in league history ended abruptly in overtime, Rodgers flung his helmet to the sideline in disgust. He can blame the Arizona defense for his misery.

Yet Newsome began Monday's introductory news conference to announce the acquisition of three-time Pro Bowl former Arizona Cardinals wideout Anquan Boldin by admitting his 2003 mis-evaluation of Boldin the football player. Newsome wasn't the only GM to undervalue a tenacious, run-after-the-catch receiver whose timed speed didn't match up to his play speed and intangibles. Because of a relatively slow 4.71-second, 40-yard dash posted at the 2003 NFL scouting combine, the former Florida State standout sl

The Arizona Cardinals ended their long and contentious relationship with Anquan Boldin, trading the wide receiver and a fifth-round pick in this year's draft to Baltimore in exchange for the Ravens' third- and fourth-round selections. Boldin has been unhappy with his contract the last two years, although his productivity on the field never wavered. In the past he has vowed never to re-sign with the Cardinals, although he later softened that stance.

The NFL offseason is off and running. As players became free agents Friday, several teams have already made moves to bolster their 2010 campaign. The New York Jets acquired former Pro Bowl cornerback Antonio Cromartie from the San Diego Chargers for a 2011 third-round draft pick that could turn into a second-round pick.

Speedy little Darren Sproles is staying with the San Diego Chargers, after all. The Chargers placed the maximum first- and third-round tender on Sproles yesterday, one of two surprise moves in the hours before free agency began. The Chargers also released tackle Jamal Williams, a 12-year veteran who has been the run-stuffing anchor of the defensive line.

Colorado quarterback Tyler Hansen said last week he believes his team needs to play with more emotion and passion next fall to make dramatic improvement on its 3-9 performance in 2009. Hansen repeatedly used the word fire. The kind of fire he was talking about is personified in wide receiver Toney Clemons, who is likely to be the biggest attraction for fans when spring practices begin Saturday morning in Boulder.

s "off the mountain tops and out of the valley" philosophy translated to a perfect flat line at times in 2009. It must be avoided this year. "I want to develop a type of aura and swagger, understanding that we   -Toney Clemons

Guard Randy Thomas, receiver Antwaan Randle El and kick returner Rock Cartwright were among 10 players cut by the Washington Redskins on the eve of free agency. Cornerback Fred Smoot, defensive tackle Cornelius Griffin, running back Ladell Betts and backup quarterback Todd Collins were also released last night as the Redskins cleared salary cap space in the first major moves under the new brain trust of general manager Bruce Allen and coach Mike Shanahan.
